Under hood bling is king. Dressing up the 2005-2010 Mustang engine compartment is a big job as Ford left a lot of less than showy finishes and parts to start with. There are some nice plenum covers, valve covers and lots of billet this and that out there for the little things.
Ford Racing has just shown off its new billet throttle body for the 2005-2010 Mustang GT, a direct replacement for the factory item. This thing really looks nice, but it also has a larger 62mm twin bore for higher intake flow and velocity. The stock GT throttle body bores only measure 55mm.
It is pretty indeed. The billet piece is fully polished and has the Ford Racing logo right on top. One benefit to that logo is that the unit has been tested by Ford through its full battery of OEM proving for cold and hot weather.
It comes complete with sensor and actuator motor installed and ready to bolt on. That plug and play format will cost you however as this baby has a suggested retail price of $559.95. Granted your local Ford Racing parts distributor will likely have a better deal waiting for you. Also keep in mind that because you are significantly altering the airflow speed and capability, a new custom tune is a requirement when bolting this on to your car.
