Could an SSP version of the Raptor be on the way? Sources have told PickupTrucks.com that the Customs and Border Protection division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is seriously considering purchasing at least 10 F-150 SVT Raptors to help catch those that are illegally entering the United States.
Insiders said that the Border Patrol is asking Ford to fit the F-150 SVT Raptor interiors with standard work-truck interiors rather than the standard high-end trim.
One wonders if there is a market for SVT to create and SSP “Special Service Package” F-150 Raptor for police department, government, border patrol, and military fleets. Ford and GM already offer military packages for their trucks, why not offer the Raptor in a uniform for agencies who need to patrol beaches, far flung terrain in national lands, and of course patroling our borders.
Pricing for the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor starts at $38,995 for the 5.4L V8 model and $41,995 6.2L V8 model.
